Pre-Vocational – Level 2 (Age 14-16)

Level 2

Pre-Vocational

The Level 2 Pre-Vocational Course builds upon the strong foundation established in Level 1, catering to students aged 14 to 16 who aspire to become professional classical ballet dancers. This course is designed to prepare students for the rigours of a professional career by further refining their technique and deepening their artistry.

Building on the foundation developed in Level 1, students in the Pre-Vocational Course focus on achieving exceptional levels of technique. They refine their skills and gain greater mastery over complex movements and positions.
Artistic development remains a central theme in this course, as students work to convey emotion and story through their movements. They explore character roles, dramatic interpretation, and creative expression.

Students delve deeper into the anatomical aspects of dance, developing a profound understanding of muscle use and body mechanics. This knowledge helps prevent injuries and ensures efficient, graceful movement.

The importance of posture and alignment continues to be emphasised, with a focus on refining these elements. Students also develop a heightened awareness of their bodies, allowing for precise control and artistic expression.

Throughout the Pre-Vocational Course, students are encouraged to become intelligent, self-motivated dancers who possess a deep sense of confidence in their abilities. They take ownership of their dance journey and prepare for a future in the professional ballet world.

Together, the Level 1 Foundation Course and the Level 2 Pre-Vocational Course create a comprehensive training programme that equips young ballet students with the essential skills, artistry, and self-awareness needed to excel in the world of classical ballet. Students who complete these courses will be well-prepared to pursue further professional training and embark on a fulfilling dance career.
