Moorland Ballet Courses
Foundation – Level 1 (Age 11-14)
The Level 1 Foundation Course is the initial step in our comprehensive training programme designed to nurture young, aspiring classical ballet dancers between the ages of 11 and 14. This course focuses on providing students with a solid foundation in classical ballet technique and a creative, inspiring learning environment. Small class sizes ensure personalised attention, allowing for mentorship and individualised technique coaching.
Students receive daily, structured classical ballet instruction that forms the cornerstone of their training. Our experienced faculty guide students through the fundamental elements of classical ballet, from posture and alignment to basic movements and positions.
In addition to technical training, students begin to explore the artistic side of ballet. They learn to express themselves through dance, building on their creativity and understanding of musicality.
The course emphasises the development of coordination, balance, and a deep understanding of muscular engagement. Students work to cultivate an awareness of their bodies, allowing them to dance with grace and precision.
Proper posture and alignment are crucial in ballet. Students receive extensive instruction in these areas, ensuring they develop a strong and healthy foundation for their dance careers.
As students’ progress through the Foundation Course, they are encouraged to become self-motivated dancers. They develop the confidence to pursue their goals and embrace the challenges of classical ballet.
Students explore other dance styles like Contemporary, Jazz, Street, Latin, Character, and Flamenco through enhancement classes. They also engage in projects related to anatomy, nutrition, and dance studies, enhancing their overall knowledge of dance.
They also study, Level 2 Certificate in Vocational Graded Examination in Dance: Intermediate foundation and Level 3 Certificate in Vocational Graded Examination in Dance: Intermediate.
