The aim is to provide an opportunity for like-minded children to meet and share their passion.
The programme has been created to complement the student’s current training enabling them to continue to study with their regular dance teacher, whilst experiencing an insight into Vocational training.
Students learn the formalised movements and positions of the arms, feet, and body designed to enable the dancer to move with the greatest possible agility, control, speed, lightness, and grace.
A style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.
A duet. Our students learn how to respect and work with others and are able to become confident with partnering skills.
Character dance is a specific subdivision of classical dance. It is the stylised representation of a traditional folk or national dance.
Classes develop the imagination and creative response in each dancer, and an understanding of the choreographic process.
Classes involve exercises that target the whole body, using lots of different muscles to strengthen, shape, and tone.
Students need to learn specific character roles, this is a facet of theatre and drama in ballet and dance.
Students are treated to termly guest teachers and choreographers during their training.
With a highly selective admissions and audition process. Students on the course are surrounded by peers who share the same dreams and ambitions. Pairing this with caring and nurturing directors is a perfect recipe for students to thrive and grow together.
Operating directly within a private secondary school with boarding facilities allows our students to not only maximise their training and studio time, but also to ensure they remained focused on their traditional studies.
Our Ballet Directors make every effort to ensure our students make contacts within the industry and get direct tuition from as many facets of Ballet as possible. Students are treated to termly guest teachers and choreographers during their studies.
