03 Oct A DAY OF DANCE AT THE NEW THEATRE IN HULL
On a bright and crisp October morning, 15 Moorland Ballet Academy students set out for a very exciting day. The students headed to the New Theatre Hull, for a day of dance under the Direction of Andrew McNicol.
Ballet Director Simon Kidd said, “having taught Andrew as a young dancer, it came as no surprise that his career in the dance world has gone from strength to strength. When Andrew approached me about whether Moorland students would like to attend, I had no hesitation in recommending this exciting opportunity.”
The day began with Company Class on stage and then the students learnt repertoire, with improvisation at the end. In the afternoon a creative workshop was led by Bim Malcomsom and the day concluded with and impressive company rehearsal and Q&A with McNicol Ballet Collective Company.
Moorland Academy students said, “It was such an inspirational day! Dancing on the New Theatre stage made us feel so free and motivated. Having the open space felt amazing and really showed us what our futures could be. The positive and constructive delivery of class and repertoire made it a really special day.”
